Motoko Honda: Acoustic Piano Solo
In this concert Honda will showcase a variety of rarely-performed solo compositions and improvisational works to transport audiences on sonic adventures that transcend the boundaries and conventions of traditional contemporary piano music.

I'm very excited to introduce "Muttdoggs", a trio with a punk legend Mike Watt and my long time collaborator Joe Berardi. We are also getting ready to release our album which was recorded quite a few years ago ! Very happy to have Petra Haden as a special guest, it will be a nice reunion since our last gig together.

I will be performing 30min. Piano solo set to open for Scott Amendola and Phillip Greenlief Duo. My program will reflect the Museum Exhibition "The Black Index" and honor my musical roots by performing pieces inspired by Leroy Jenkins and my CalArts teacher/mentor Wadada Leo Smith.
Show is FREE - But we are provided with respectable wages, thanks to Mark Weiss Production ❤️ !
I do recommend you to also stop by the museum exhibition - I went to see it and it was awesome ( takes about 20min.-40min. depending on your pace) 😊
