Portrayed as an “Embodiment of a Muse” (Greg Burk, metaljazz.com), and a “Keyboard Alchemist”(Chris Barton, L.A.Times), Honda has fascinated critics and audiences alike with her genre-defying innovative approach to piano/keyboard performances and composing. Through her collaborative sensibility to multiple art forms and innovative technologies, Honda has created a multitude of interdisciplinary works and was commissioned to compose music inspired by visual arts and architectures. She has been invited to perform at museums, art galleries and public facilities such as the Moody Center for the Arts (Houston, TX), the Hammer Museum (Los Angeles, CA.), Montalvo Arts Center (Saratoga, CA.) REDCAT/MOCA (Los Angeles, CA.), Kala Art Institute (Berkeley, CA), and SCI-ARC (Los Angeles, CA).
As an experienced performer-composer and project leader, Motoko is extremely versatile and able to work with all kind of institutions from small independent galleries to major museums. Through her excellent communication skills and clear strategic approach, she ensures that the collaboration process will be smooth and easy for all involved. Motoko is available to perform for special public or private events and Art openings/ installations. She’s also available for the commissioning of new compositions or any other imaginable collaboration with museums, galleries and public spaces.
